How the Index works

Every store in the Showcase is scored by The Ecom Awards out of 10 on four things: design (craft, typography, art direction), usability (navigation, product pages, clarity), creativity (original ideas, interaction, brand expression) and content (product information, storytelling, imagery). Scores are reviewed side by side so the same quality gets the same score.

Brands are ranked on their best project. Agencies are ranked on the average of their best three projects, plus 3 points for each further featured store (up to 15). Nobody can pay to be ranked. Businesses connected to the organisers are left out. The Index updates as new stores are featured and scored.
